
We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our procurement team based in Paisley, Glasgow. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services needed across our manufacturing operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and timely delivery. Your duties will include supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, managing supplier relationships, analysing market trends, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Working closely with internal stakeholders such as finance, operations, and engineering, you will help optimise our supply chain and contribute to our ongoing commitment to sustainable manufacturing and excellence. The role offers a dynamic environment where proactive decision-making and strategic sourcing are valued, with a focus on delivering value and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
To be successful you will need:
- Experience in procurement or buying within a manufacturing environment, with a minimum of 3 years preferred.
- Proven track record of negotiation, supplier management, and contract drafting.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage internal and external relationships effectively.
- Qualifications such as a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience; professional certifications like CIPS or CPSM are advantageous.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
