We are seeking a dedicated permanent Cabin Design Engineer to join our team based in Glasgow. In this role, you will support the development of leather dress covers and foams for aviation, working closely with the Cabin Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities will include establishing efficient manufacturing workflows, developing standardised design criteria, supporting process improvements both locally and in partnership with our production facility in Guangzhou, and ensuring safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are met. The successful candidate will be involved in preparing technical documentation, driving project KPIs, and contributing to long-term product development strategies. Full training will be provided in Leather Technology, Leather Production, Patterning, CAD Design, Aerospace Manufacturing Processes, and Leather Inspection. Regular travel to China and global customer sites is expected to support production and project requirements, making flexibility essential.
To be successful you will need:
- A degree in a related discipline
- Experience with CAD programs and strong organisational skills
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience working within teams; good communication and analytical skills
- Program and project management capabilities
- Commercial awareness and understanding of process improvement
- Self-awareness, openness to feedback, and a drive for results
- Ability to influence stakeholders, clarify expectations, and resolve technical issues
- Attention to detail and customer-focused attitude
- Creative and innovative mindset with team-oriented approach
