As a Colour Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring colour and gloss standards consistently meet customer specifications. Combining your technical capability with a strong eye for detail, you’ll carry out both electronic and visual colour matching, measurement, and analysis to support high-quality outcomes. Your work will directly influence product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
In this role you will:
• Carry out accurate electronic and visual colour measurement of samples and hides
• Assess and measure gloss levels to ensure consistency with customer specifications
• Maintain and manage the colour master library to support production standards
• Carry out colour matching using RK coater and hand spray techniques
• Use datacolour equipment to electronically correct mixes and make visual adjustments where required
• Ensure customer requirements for colour and gloss are consistently achieved
• Work closely with finishing and final inspection teams to minimise downtime and maintain workflow
• Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives, taking a lean approach to processes and performance
You’re someone who understands that delivering consistent quality is about more than measurements – it’s about attention to detail, collaboration, and taking ownership of results in a fast-moving environment.
• You bring experience or a strong interest in a technical or manufacturing environment
• You demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in your work
• You are well organised, methodical, and able to prioritise effectively under pressure
• You are proactive, self-motivated, and confident working on your own initiative
• You bring strong numeracy and communication skills, enabling you to interpret and share information clearly
• You are solution-focused, resilient, and take a positive approach to challenges and change
• You have strong colour vision (assessed via the Farnsworth Munsell test)
