As our Dyehouse Operator, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day operation of the Dyehouse, preparing chemicals and processing batches through the dye vessels to ensure leather is produced consistently to the required specification. With a strong focus on quality, safety, accuracy, and teamwork, you’ll help ensure every batch meets the high standards our customers expect.
In this role you will:
- Prepare chemicals accurately and safely for processing batches through the dye vessels, following required specifications and procedures
- Operate dyehouse equipment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and process sheets
- Consistently dye leather to the required shade, maintaining quality and consistency throughout the process
- Accurately record weights, process information, and production data to ensure effective production control and traceability
- Inspect hides throughout processing, identifying and reporting quality concerns or deviations from specification
- Work closely with the Supervisor and wider team to achieve production targets, maintain quality, and ensure efficient workflow
- Follow all Health and Safety procedures, proactively identifying hazards and contributing to our Zero Tolerance Health & Safety culture
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment while supporting teamwork and continuous improvement

- Effective communicator who is confident raising concerns and working closely with Supervisors and colleagues
- Committed to achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and Health & Safety
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new processes, equipment, and skills
- Strong team player who works collaboratively and supports the wider production operation
- Reliable, dedicated, and determined to deliver high standards of performance and excellence
- Previous manufacturing or industrial experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
