We are seeking a Permanent Recycling Plant Operator to join our team based in Bridge of Weir, Glasgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and managing machinery and processes at the Recycling Plant, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. Reporting directly to the Recycling Plant Team Leader, you will monitor plant operations via SCADA systems, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate with engineers to maintain efficient, continuous operations. Your role will contribute to our commitment to sustainable manufacturing and environmental responsibility, ensuring the plant operates within permit limits for air and water discharge at all times.
To be successful you will need:
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Recycling Plant’s operational processes and equipment.
- Operate and monitor the plant’s machinery through SCADA systems to meet production and environmental targets.
- Complete hazard and near-miss reporting using TCards.
- Perform routine checks and coordinate with engineering staff for plant maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies at all times.
- Accurately record process data and performance metrics for operational reporting.
- Assist in maintaining chemical stocks and ensuring work areas are organised and ready to support excellent customer service levels.
- Respond proactively to operational issues, raising concerns promptly with the team leader.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation efforts.
